What we're about

Meet like-minded people interested in meditation near you! Learn how to meditate or deepen your current meditation practice. A trademark of the meditations we emphasize is the ease in which they can be used both "on the cushion" and in our daily lives. Each meeting will include practical meditation, and a talk on how to reduce stress and other problems encountered in daily life and how to increase mental and physical well-being. There will also be plenty of time to discuss the ideas presented. Although the meditations and talks are based on Kadampa Buddhist philosophy, you don't need to be a Buddhist to enjoy this group. Kadampa Buddhism stresses a spiritual path of individual transformation and to look within ourselves for the inner peace and happiness we seek. Everyone is welcome!

Livestream Workshop: It's Cool to be Kind:. Learn to Pay It Forward

REGISTER at: meditationinfortmyers.org. An email will be sent to you with a link to the zoom meeting. Everyone is welcome to join-in to this insightful workshop and learn how truly cool it is to be kind and the positive difference we can make in this world. Through meditation and the practice of Buddha’s teachings, we learn how to cultivate a really good heart of loving-kindness. The true joy of working towards this transformation of the heart is then to pay it forward, expecting nothing in return. From the peace we experience within our own mind, we are inspired then to touch the hearts of others through actions of sincere kindness. It’s impossible to know the beneficial effects these actions have on other’s lives. Like a ripple effect though, someone receiving and experiencing genuine loving-kindness may decide they too must pay it forward. Buddha taught that we are all interconnected. We cannot exist without others, and they in turn are affected by everything we do. Each session of the workshop will include a guided meditation a talk. Please stay for Q & A following the workshop. No experience is needed. Cost: $20 Session 1: 10 -11:30am Break: 11:30-11:45am Session 2: 11:45am – 12:30pm
