Note:

As the World Health Organization has declared that COVID-19 is a global pandemic, and Governor Polis has declared a state of emergency the Node.js meetup will be switching to fully remote. We hope that this will allow us to stay connected while at the same time help to stop new infections. As always the meetup will be streamed. Stay tuned for details on how we will be holding the meetup!

Stay healthy,

Brooks

Creating a technical interview that doesn't suck

Interviewing at many companies are a broken mess. The idea is sound, we want to hire programmers who know how to code, work with a team, and don't give up when faced with hard problems. It's something that we complain about when we are interviewing at other companies. However when it is our turn to look for new co-workers we can fall into the trap of using the same terrible practices that we hated when we were searching for a job.

In this talk, Brooks Patton will show you his favorite method for the technical interview, the pair programming interview. He'll show you a sample code base, what the interview itself might look like, and how to create your own amazing interview.
