Speaker Series Kick off: Remote Work with Kate Kendall

Join us for our guest speaker series kick off on Tuesday, January 19th with "a lover of remote work culture."

Kate Kendall, CEO of CloudPeepsa newly-launched marketplace that connects businesses with remote community managers. 

Kate will share her background and experience working remotely and managing a remote team.  How do you start working remotely? What are some of the challenges remote freelancers and entrepreneurs face everyday? How do you build a cohesive culture across geography within your team and how do you keep everyone feeling connected?

More generally, we will hear about how the concept of remote work are changing our society and some of its biggest misconceptions.

Kate Kendall is a San Francisco-based, British-Australian entrepreneur and writer. She’s the founder and CEO of CloudPeeps – a talent marketplace that matches businesses with the world’s top freelance marketing, content and community professionals. She also created The Fetch – a curated guide to the best events and industry reads for professionals.

She started out as a business journalist and more recently, led growth and digital at magazine companies, handled outreach for new startups and helped businesses understand the role of community. Her work has been featured in Harvard Business Review, Quartz, BuzzFeed, The Next Web, The Australian, the ABC, Marie Claire, Lifehacker and more.     During Q&A, I asked about reputable overseas health care coverage providers. For everyone's reference the recommendations were:
    (4) Red Point - I can't find this one online ...

    (1) was recommended by guest speaker Kate Kendall while (2-5) were recommended by an audience member.

    Would love to hear additional thoughts from others and also if I made a mistake in any of the above. I'd hate to be propagating incorrect info!

    Thanks for RSVP for tomorrow's event on remote work with Kate Kendall. The event will be held at We Work Transbay at 535 Mission Street 14th Floor, San Francisco, CA (Minna & 1st). FYI there is NO large We Work sign at the front as it is on the 14th floor of the building. You can enter both via Mission and Minna street.

    Please note that We Work's building management /security does not allow unattended visitors into WeWork after 6pm. There will be one staff member from our team who will escort you up to We Work on the 14th floor from 6 - 7:15 pm. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate guests that arrive after 7:15pm.

    Program Flow is as follows:
