Saturday Hiking to San Marcos Peak then to Double Peak

1044 San Marino Dr

Hey Guys! How’s everyone’s endurance, stamina, and excitement for exploration?!? This San Marcos Peak (aka Cerro de las Posas) to Double Peak Hike will test all that! I have not done this hike before so it will be a surprise for me too. It is supposed to have some of the most amazing views of the lake, rolling hills and the surrounding city. It will have inclines and about 8 miles of good, fun exercise!! Consider this as a Day Camp Exploration Trip with guidelines to keep us safe… wear masks, observe 6 ft apart. After the hike, we can get our lunch somewhere, bring it to a park, or head to the Lodge …an exclusive area by Lake San Marcos. We can decide as a group and stay together or go on our merry way! There are 2 options for this hike and you can decide yours: (1) If you do not want to hike all the way to Double Peak, just do San Marcos Peak (2) Carry on with me to Double Peak. You will be hungry, so bring snacks for along the way. I recommend to: -Drink a few gulps of water or other liquids every 30-45 minutes, -Have a bit of your protein bar, maybe a handful of nuts or a citrus fruit every hour… MEETUP LOCATION (corner San Marino Dr and La Bonita Dr) 9:00 am meet & greet (plan your trip, arrive on time) 9:15 am we start hiking 1044 San Marino Drive (park on street or in store parking lots) San Marcos, CA 92078 HIKE DETAILS: Hiking Distance: ~8.0 miles Elevation gain: ~[masked]' Difficulty: Intermediate Hikers (Advanced beginners welcomed) WHAT TO BRING: Water ( I take 3 liters; I sweat a lot & I prepare for the worst) Face Mask (handkerchief, face gators mask, regular COVID-19 masks) Snack (an apple, an orange, electrolyte replenisher) Sturdy Hiking Shoes Bug spray Sun Block Optional – Your Lunch DISCLAIMER: The organizer of this event is not a professional guide.
