Day Hike Cross Timbers Trail and Picnic
We will start our 5 mile hike at the West Juniper Point trail head. This hike is much more difficult than Cedar Ridge or Eagle Mountain Park. I uploaded a picture of the elevation in the photo section. If we have a large group it will take us about 2.5 hours. Bring lots of water. I would also recommend a hiking pole if you are not use to going up and down hills with loose rocks, sand etc. We will be protected most of the hike by a nice canopy of trees. After the hike we can enjoy a picnic and enjoy the view of the lake. BYOP- Bring your own picnic. You can also fish off the dock if you have a fishing licenses or jump in the lake after the hike. *Directions ....For GPS, use the address 32843 U.S. 377, Gordonville, TX 76245 to map to get to the parking area. From Whitesboro, TX travel about 14 miles north on Highway 377. The campground is on the left side of the highway just before you get to the Willis Bridge that crosses into Oklahoma. Once you are inside the park, drive until you hit a Y in the road. Turn left at the Y, drive until you can turn left into a parking/camping area. This is the trailhead. Very limited parking next to trailhead, but plenty in other parts of the park. Bring lots of water!!

What we're about

This group is for those who love outdoor activities. Hiking, camping, backpacking, mountaineering, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, spelunking, walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, as well as other sports, are all activities that are possibilities for our calendar.

This group operates under a "members first" mentality and I hope that it grows into a great one. A Meetup Group is only as good as its members.

By joining North Texas Outdoors you are agreeing with our Liability Waver and all it's terms which can be found on our "pages" link on this website.
