Our July Showcase Keynote is "AI and Deep Learning at Amazon" followed by demos from local developers.
Special guest speaker Konstantin Wilms, Principal Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services, will discuss two interesting AWS features: Amazon Lex and Amazon Polly.
Amazon Lex is a service for building conversational interfaces into any application using voice and text. Amazon Lex provides the advanced deep learning functionalities of automatic speech recognition (ASR) for converting speech to text, and natural language understanding (NLU) to recognize the intent of the text, to enable you to build applications with highly engaging user experiences and lifelike conversational interactions.
Amazon Polly is a service that turns text into lifelike speech. Amazon Polly lets you create applications that talk, enabling you to build entirely new categories of speech-enabled products.
Our keynote will be followed by demos of local apps in various stages of production.
This month's demos:
Recognizr and BizValuator with Tom Taulli
Two POC apps that Tom has developed using CoreML, the machine learning component in the upcoming iOS 11. One photo recognition engine, and one price prediction system.
PatientAider presented by Ariana Longley
The app was curated by a nurse who was frustrated seeing patients lacking information at their fingertips to help them navigate their care, often in the dark about common medical errors that risk their safety and well-being. Learn how iOS developers can apply machine learning join to save patients’ lives tomorrow.
LifeWheel with Alexander Stepanov
LifeWheel helps people set and achieve personal goals.
This Meetup is FREE. Please RSVP as soon as you can. Looking forward to July 25th. Talk to everyone soon.

RAFFLE: Linus will continue raffle the beautifully framed and preserved "Original iPhone" at this event. We will giveaway a mysterious book every developer and designer should read, a book I bought from Amazon for $50. I liked it so much and order a new one for raffle. It weighs a ton, almost. ;-)
