Journalists with Drinks

Happy New(s) Year! Our first meetup this year will be a social gathering where journalists can share their favorite works of 2017 in an informal, friendly environment.

Did you write something interesting? Shoot a video that others need to see? Make some killer infographics or a great data viz? Tell us about your work when you RSVP for your chance to present it to fellow ONA members at our January meetup. We'll select a few works ahead of time (RSVP with your submission by January 13 to be considered) and will open the floor for more, open-mic style. Each speaker will have 7 minutes to present their work.

Confirmed speakers include:

• Madeline Bair – An award-winning journalist and filmmaker, and an expert on human rights video advocacy, verification of online footage, and citizen video.
• Marco Brunner - Swiss Journalist with Ringier Axel Springer, who is working for three months in San Francisco.
• Max Cherney - Tech reporter for Market Watch.

Join us for a night of drinking, mingling, and sharing your best work from 2017. No participation necessary to attend: just sit back (and sip) and listen! There will be beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks available, and time to network and socialize before and after the talks.
