The Ohio State University Chapter of IEEE has been gracious enough to offer to host ECE Alumni, friends and future students to an evening on campus to present an overview of the Sophomore Experience classroom and lab curriculum and a tour of the associated labs.

In addition to learning about the IEEE Chapter and activities, the focus of the event will be to get a first-hand look at the novel sequence of integrated sophomore level courses and real-life engineering labs. By leveraging modern technology the award winning sequence has achieved the following goals:

• Integrated laboratory content with the lectures

• Introduced real-life engineering problems in the labs with equipment and tools commonly used in industry

• Provided early exposure of our undergraduate students to microcontrollers

• Heavily utilize learning technology throughout lectures and labs

• Populated the lab with modern equipment including state of the art oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, iPads and experimenter’s boards

• Created a "sophomore home" where the environment is conducive to learning.

This event will be a great opportunity to connect with current students and get a first-hand experience what is offered to first-year ECE students to help advance the connection between their initial ECE coursework and industry-relevant lab equipment.

We encourage current pre-college students who are interested in Engineering to attend if they would like to see what they can experience in ECE at Ohio State!
