Removing Weeds From a Pathway/Stairway (#14)

Details

We will meet at the bottom of this stairway that probably doesn't have a name so I gave it the name "Barrows-Holman" because it goes between those 2 streets. The stairway bottom is between 2 houses with the numbers 1329 & 1337 Barrows Road so I gave it the address 1333 Barrows Road. It is close to the intersection of Barrows Road & Trestle Glen.

The problem for this stairway like the other ones we did is plant overgrowth so the best gardening tool for attendees to bring is shearers. Also, one should bring gloves, water to drink & paper towels. Brooms and dustpans will help too. I will bring 3 shearers and enough garbage bags for us. We will be working for 2 hours or a little less.

This is our 5th weed removal on this pathway. On our first cleanups here we had big groups of 7 or 5 volunteers cutting weeds and filling up dozens of big garbage bags. Now it is in much better shape than before, but this pathway has plant growth not only below and on the sides but even above. It is like cutting through a tunnel so the plants grow back very fast.

To look for the location on Google Maps "1329 Barrows, Oakland, Ca" is probably the best to put in. We will work for about 2 hours, but it is OK to be late or stay for just one hour.
