Something is amiss in the Underdark!
This table is for Tier 2 characters: Levels 5 - 10. Something has gone horribly wrong in the Underdark. In addition to the usual dangers of ancient aberrations, crafty drow, cold-hearted duergar, and sly svirfneblin, there is a new danger lurking: demonic armies have invaded the Underdark. Brave heroes from the surface world that were once prisoners of the drow have now escaped and are seeking to discover the source of the demonic incursion and what can be done to combat it.
Everywhere the heroes travel they find political intrigue, ancient traps, terrible foes, and strange, wondrous creatures and entities that are found nowhere outside the Underdark. Will you brave the demonic hordes to try to restore what balance there can ever be found in this alien and wondrous realm? And beware--demons are not the only danger in the Underdark--rumors have it that the strange madness that overwhelms some who spend too much time in the darkness has grown even more powerful, and threatens to twist the minds of any who would dare to oppose the demonic invaders and the dark elf overlords that have always ruled this twisted world.
IMPORTANT NOTE: D&D Adventurers League (DDAL) rules permit a maximum of 7 players per table. When you sign up, please be careful to select the DM that runs your usual table. If you do not sign up on the event page and the table fills up, it will be the DM's discretion if you are permitted to play as a walk-in. Thank you!
Our sister location (the Cool Stuff Games store in Waterford Lakes) hosts D&D Encounters every Wednesday night. Due to popular demand, we've also opened a second D&D Adventurers League event at the Waterford Lakes store on Friday nights with DM Richard and DM Raul hosting tables.
This D&D Encounters campaign is designed for players both experienced and new to the game of Dungeons & Dragons and to 5th Edition (D&D 5e). The campaign is set in the long-established D&D setting of the Forgotten Realms in the land of Faerun. The games will run each Monday evening from 6pm - 9pm at the store. Come and create an original character to play, or choose a pre-generated character to explore this exciting and rich game world, filled with fearsome enemies, brave heroes, and wondrous magic.
You need never have played 5e (or any other edition of D&D for that matter). Experienced players are welcomed as well, but if you've played through the adventure, try not to spoil the story for new players! We welcome any and all who are interested in playing or learning the game. Come out and join the fun!
More DMs Wanted! Would you like to run a D&D Encounters table? Our community is growing and sooner or later we'll need more DMs. Talk to the DM at your table about the need and the opportunity to help our group grow.
FAQ
Q: Can I play the same character on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights?
A: No. DDAL rules permit you to only accumulate experience on one character at one DDAL session per week. You can play multiple nights, but you must play a different character each night.
Q: Do I need any experience to play D&D Encounters?
A: No. D&D Encounters is ideal for new or experienced players. It introduces a story and adventure that lets new players jump in and allows experienced players to fully engage their imaginations to help the game come alive.
Q: Wait list? Attendee limit? Whaddya mean?
A: D&D Encounters recognizes "official" game tables with a maximum of 7 players plus 1 DM. We have grown to 5 DMs and 5 tables, so until we can recruit more DMs, we need a wait list. Please get on the wait list and come out anyway if the event fills up. Sometimes people who sign up can't make it, and if the store sees there's demand for more DMs and more tables, they may help us recruit more!
Q: Do I have to play every week?
A: No. D&D Encounters is designed so that the table continues the game each week wherever it left off the week before. You can show up every week and see the whole adventure or just come when you can make it and participate in the sessions when you are present.
Q: Do I have to buy any materials or books to play D&D Encounters?
A: No. It will help to bring a pencil, but everything you need to play D&D Encounters will be available at the table. If you want to create a first-level character before you come, you can download free character sheets (http://media.wizards.com/2016/dnd/DnD_COS_CharacterSheet.pdf) and basic D&D 5e Rules (http://dnd.wizards.com/products/tabletop/players-basic-rules) from the Wizards of the Coast web site. You can also download the official D&D Adventurers League Player's Guide. Note that to be legal for D&D Encounters play, any original characters must be created following the D&D Adventurers League rules.
Q: Can I bring my spouse or friend to the game?
A: Yes. D&D is always more fun with friends. Be sure to invite them or bring them along.
Q: Are you looking for more DMs for your location?
A: We're always looking for people who would like to be DMs! Please come out and play on Wednesdays to get a feel for our game, our players, and our location. If you want to be a DM, make sure you tell us of your interest and give us your contact information. As demand grows, we'll reach out to those people who have shown an interest in running a table before anyone else!
Q: How do I get more information?
A: You can leave a question here in this thread, or you can drop me an email at gallibondaie@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing anyone who is interested and available in learning D&D 5e and playing the D&D Encounters official adventures.
