Ottawa Rosicrucian Meetup (Mysticism, Spiritual Development)

How do we set our intentions and which techniques work best in terms of manifesting our desires?

· Are there secrets to why some people find greater success and happiness in life than others?

Learn the answers to these questions and more in a public day of workshops hosted by the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis and its local Ottawa chapter, “Trillium Pronaos”.

· 9:30 am: Doors open, Registration, Meet and Mingle
· 10:00 am: Introductions and Overviews to kick off the day’s workshop
· Lunch: a light pizza lunch (vegetarian option available) , desserts and beverages (coffee, tea, other) will be provided

The figure of Sophia holds special significance in Rosicrucianism and Martinism. Across traditions, she is considered a divine emanation, a creatrix, and the keeper of sacred wisdom, both lost and found. In this teleconference, Cheri Gandy will lead us in examining how the Sophia tradition coalesces into the sacred feminine thread that continues to weave itself throughout Rosicrucian and Martinist thought. We will explore many dimensions of this figure, as well as those of her counterparts – Isis, Eve, and Mary – through the lens of the Hebrew Bible, the writings of Jacob Boehme and Louis Claude de Saint-Martin, and the fourth century gnostic text “Thunder, Perfect Mind.”

The weekly studies and exercises of the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC cover the ancient Greek philosophers. In this spirit, we note that the teachings of the Pythagoreans, Socrates, and Plato have a remarkable transmission through Plato’s account in the Timaeus. In this teleconference, Hugh McCague will lead us in considering one of the key features of that text; namely, the Platonic solids and their expression of the sacred through geometry and mathematics. To illustrate the point, we will explore how these special structures assist us to go deeper into knowledge of the microcosm and macrocosm.
