In the September 1981 Rosicrucian Digest there was an article by Grand Master Emeritus Robert E. Daniels entitled “When Times are Hard.” We will follow up on and explore further some of the many Rosicrucian laws, principles, and exercises that will assist us during times that appear challenging in our lives. By the law of transmutation, these experiences help us to enter a new way of living and level of maturity. Preparing for two upcoming Solar Eclipses that will be observable in many parts of the Americas on October 14, 2023 and April 8, 2024, Grand Master Julie Scott will share some of the fascinating history and facts about this amazing astronomical event, when the new moon passes directly between Earth and the Sun, obscuring our view of the Sun, either fully or partially, depending on our location.

The ideals promulgated in these utopian tales have provided long-term direction for the evolvement and improvement of societies and the individual. As humanity has matured and attained, so have these utopian descriptions evolved over the centuries from Plato’s Republic to the “Rosicrucian Utopia” in the Positio Fraternitatis Rosae Crucis. We will focus on a story published in 1619: Christianopolis by Johann Valentin Andreae, a member of the Tübingen Circle and a prominent figure in the history of the Rosicrucians.
