Rob Johnson is a member of Out in the 802 and a Guide at the Shelburne Museum. He has scheduled a private tour for Out in the 802. Please see below.
I’m hosting a special guided tour at the Shelburne Museum on September 20, and I’d love for you to join me! We’ll be exploring some incredible art and history, and I think it’ll be a fantastic day out.
Here’s the plan:
When: September 20
Approximately 9:45 am, lasting about 2 hours. Meet at the entrance.
Cost: $25 for admission (If 12 or more people sign up, we’ll get a group discount!) we need to know in advance to get the discount so please RSVP if possible.
Tour Highlights:
• Electra Havemeyer Webb Memorial Building: This is where you’ll find the contents of Electra’s stunning 740 Park Ave. apartment, including works by Monet, Degas, and more.
• Web Gallery: A great collection of American artists, showcasing some beautiful pieces.
I should mention upfront that I’m not an art scholar, but I’ve learned a bit about these exhibits and the fascinating story of how Electra Webb started the museum. I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with you all!
Optional: If you’re up for it, we can head to the café afterward for lunch and chat about what we saw.
Let me know if you’d like to come! It’ll be a fun, low-key way to appreciate some incredible art and history, and of course, hang out.
Hope you can make it!
Note: the tour will involve walking on uneven surfaces. And one building has 2 floors and no elevator.
