What we're about

We set up this group so that families and individuals could discover and explore some of the best natural places in and around Southwest Riverside County. Our associated organization is the Santa Margarita Group of the Sierra Club. Our goal is to give people of all ages and capabilities a chance to learn about nature and come to love it as we do. The cost to participate is free, or just the price of entry to our venue, and we ask for a donation of two dollars per family to maintain this website.

We'll also post details of our monthly speakers, held at 6:30pm on the second Thursday of every month, and our local hikes which are open to everybody. (You don't have to be a Sierra Club member to join in!)

Annual Native Plant Sale in Temecula!

Vail Headquarters

Dr. Gordon Pratt, renown entomologist, has propagated plants specific to the local butterfly populations. He wants these special plants to be distributed around the region and spends the year working to make these plants available. Bring your mask. We will be limiting the number of shoppers in the area to keep socially distanced. If interested in pre-ordering, contact me for the list and the availability. Gallon-sized plants are $8.
