The Phoenix JBP meetup group welcomes everyone with an interest in the thought of Dr. Jordan B. Peterson to meet each other and discuss ideas of importance.
Over the last few years, the Internet has enabled a resurgence of free intellectual exploration (of which Dr. Peterson has been a key part). At the same time, threats to free speech and thinking have intensified in society at large.
We acknowledge the positive role of the Internet in resisting censorship and fostering this intellectual resurgence—particularly through the anonymity, instant communication, and free access to vast amounts of content it enables. However, we recognize these factors can also bring real detriments—by stoking political polarization, eroding mutual trust, and removing real interpersonal connection.
Therefore, our group aims to complement the online discourse with real-world discussions on a wide range of topics centered on (but not limited to) the ideas of Dr. Peterson. We hope to foster genuine dialogue and build up real-world connections among like-minded people in the Phoenix area.
We host a meetup on the first Saturday of every month, based around a topic announced beforehand.
