PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION
The times are changing! Gone are the days of hiding your true self. Today, employees in the LGBTQ+ community want to bring their whole selves to work and celebrate what makes them unique. However, this can pose a new set of challenges for HR as fellow colleagues.
This presentation is designed to shed light on different ways to foster a more inclusive culture to the LGBTQ+ community within organizations. It is important to understand the words and terms to use or avoid and how a Human Resources Department might change the tone of gender and identity for inclusivity in the workplace.
Questions are encouraged for a discussion on best practices, respect, and education on LGBTQ+ issues and concerns.
Attendees will be able to create a more diverse and inclusive culture within their organizations by:
- Re-writing policies and handbooks that include appropriate language for a culture of diversity and inclusion for people within the LGBTQ+ community
- Training business partners on sensitivity around LGBTQ+ issues and vocabulary that fosters inclusivity
