Keeping Quality High While Deploying a Thousand Times a Month with Jeff Morgan

Details

We are experimenting with an earlier starting time for our virtual meetings. Note the 4:30 pm Eastern time start. We're planning on recording this session and making it available on YouTube.

We're excited to have Jeff Morgan ("Cheezy") joining us this month!

About the Talk:
Continuous Delivery is a hot topic. The CICD and DevOps buzzwords are no longer thought of as radical or unachievable. The idea of delivering changes rapidly to your users while being able to run micro experiments to learn their reaction is appealing to both developers and product managers. But what does it really take to achieve this goal? Is it really possible to keep the quality of a product high enough to deliver changes directly to users within minutes of making the change?

Join Cheezy as he walks us through a real-world example of continuous delivery in a large financial organization. In this talk, he will be very specific in testing approaches this organization adopted. He will also cover the development process, source code management practices, feature toggles, pipelines, and other tools and practices that reduce risk and keep quality high. You’ve heard talks about the product side of CD. This talk is focused on what it takes from a development perspective.
