What we're about

Piccadilly Ski Club is a Chicago non-profit skiing, snowboarding and activity club based in Downers Grove, Illinois. We are a friendly and adventurous group and like to keep active, socialize and travel. We welcome single people and couples to join us. Ages in our club range from 30 to 65, active, working adults. Piccadilly members reside in the Downers Grove and surrounding areas, even as far away as South Carolina and Arkansas.

Since we plan events all year round, there are many opportunities to meet and make new friends through a wide variety of activities, such as skiing, golf, biking, social gatherings, and trips. In our 40+ year history, Piccadilly has planned hundreds of events locally, and traveled the globe extensively. We've taken ski trips throughout the US and Canada, as well as Europe and New Zealand. Non-ski adventures in our club’s travel history have taken us to Costa Rica, Mexico, Jamaica, New Orleans and Key West. Join us today to make new friends and go on your next great adventure.

Club Meetings start at 7:30pm on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays from August thru April; and during the summer months we meet the first Thursday in May, June & July at Emmett's Ale House, 5200 Main Street, in Downers Grove, IL

Dunn’s Backyard Oktoberfest

Needs a location

Saturday, September 25, Dunn’s Backyard Oktoberfest Breakout your lederhosen or dirndl attire for Backyard Oktoberfest 2021! Saturday, September 25th, 6:00-10:30 pm.

Last year when the Milwaukee Oktoberfest was cancelled, Harry Mattson was inspired to ask if we would host a Piccadilly Oktoberfest in our large backyard, and a good time was had by all. This year Harry is once again leading a Piccadilly trip to Oktoberfest in Wisconsin on Saturday, September 18th, but for those who prefer to party closer to home (or want to partake of Oktoberfest for a second weekend) we are having a backyard Oktoberfest in Downers Grove the following Saturday, September 25th. Cathie and Chris Dunn are the hosts and Harry Mattson will be the MC.

Bring your own beverage, food, chair, small table, etc. and dress for the weather since we will be outside. There will be Oktoberfest music, games and fabulous prizes. If you would like to participate in the Oktoberfest Bier exchange, bring a 6 pack of cold beer and swap one of your beers for one of someone else’s (with their permission of course!) Please indicate in the comments section of Meetup what you would like to bring or let Harry know so we can avoid everyone bringing the same thing. This way, we can have a safe tasting without sharing open beverages. Light beer doesn’t count- if you prefer that you probably wouldn’t like sampling Oktoberfest Bier anyway.
Limited to 45 people, sign up through Meetup. The address will be provided to those who RSVP Yes on Meetup and will be sent the day before.

PSC General Meeting - "Throw Back Thursday" At Home Run Inn!

Home Run Inn Pizza

Thursday, October 7, PSC General Meeting at HRI starting at 7pm. If you haven't yet signed up for a trip or paid your membership dues, bring your checkbook and see what trips are still available. You must be a paid member for the 2021/2022 season to sign up for a trip. Come early to order your food & drink and socialize!

NOTE: Fellow Piccadillians - Emmett's has a large event booked for the date of our first meeting in October, the entire dining room and banquet room will be used for this event. So, we (the Board) in the spirit of Throw Back Thursdays has decided to move the October 7th meeting back to one of our old haunts - the Home Run Inn at the corner of Lemont Road & 75th Street. We will be in the same room we used to use for our meetings - when you enter the restaurant, turn to the right and the room will be front of you. Now there is a minimum spend in order for us to use the private room, so I am asking you to be patient with the servers (HRI is most likely suffering from the same staffing shortages as every other place), and please DO NOT order your beverages from the bar - that will not count toward the room minimum.
