What we're about

(Note: We are currently meeting online for conversation and support.)

We have a monthly potluck to share a meal where every dish promotes our own health, and the health of the planet. For optimum health, our potlucks feature nutrient dense plant-based whole foods: beans and lentils, fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds. We also encourage dishes to be SOS-free, (no added salt, oil, or sugar). A whole-food plant-based diet is also a low-carbon diet, and choosing to eat this way is one of the most effective actions an individual can take to lower their carbon footprint.

We discuss the details of the food we brought to the potluck, share recipes, and go around the room each time to share our personal stories, discoveries, and challenges. It is such a pleasure to gather with other like-minded people for a meal where every dish is truly health-promoting, everyone is cheering you on towards your health goals, and where we can learn and share about the connections between food and climate change.

We occasionally have food demonstrations or hands-on experiences with kitchen tools, and like to share ways to make food prep easier and more efficient.

Monthly Online Dinner and Conversation about Cooking and Eating WFPB

Join us for our online dinner and conversation about WFPB food. You are welcome to prepare one of your favorite plant-based dishes, ideally nutrient-dense whole foods with no added salt, oil or sugar (SOS-free). Or if you don't feel like cooking, that's fine too! Let's share what we've learned recently -- cookbooks and recipes, food prep and cooking tips, and news about local restaurants.

Our get-together will last about 40 minutes. To start, each person will have the opportunity to show and talk about what they're having for dinner. Hold up your bowl or plate to the camera so we can see! After this, we will go around again, so that each person can take a few minutes to share what's on their mind about food.

Looking forward to seeing you online! If you are not able to attend, please change your RSVP as soon as possible.
