DevOps Awakens: Ataccama & ShowMax
We're happy to announce the renewal of regular monthly DevOps Meetups in Prague. Thanks to Ataccama for providing us with the space and snacks for future events. So let’s kick off another year of fun meetups and interesting topics! Here’s what you can look forward to in October: • Evangelizing DevOps Methodology (Radek blufor Slavicinsky, Ataccama) • Let’s discuss why we DevOps and why we are here in the first place. And let’s make some plans—like what topics we want to cover at future meetups, which technologies we want to dive into, and which speakers we’ve already managed to confirm until the end of the year. And let me kick-off our first meetup by telling you about what we do at Ataccama. We are a growing, international software company developing a smart platform to help customers process, manage, and monitor their data. Lately, we have decided to deliver our products as a service also. That means lots of new stuff to create and implement. We’ll cover all those areas in general and have the opportunity to dive into specific areas in the following meetups. A Q&A will cover all the questions. • Routing Misbehaving Clients to a Black Hole with HAProxy and ELK (Jan Tomsa, ShowMax) • As our user base (and our popularity) grows, so too does the threat of sudden attacks against our platform. To face this challenge, we started a project called Sinkholing, and it actually works just like it sounds—the goal is to allow us to send all unwanted requests into a virtual sinkhole. We’ve taken advantage of tools we already use—HAProxy, ELK, and Elastalert—and joined them together like never before! Supported by the flexibility of ElasticSearch, we can create and apply rules to protect any endpoint of our platform.

What we're about

DevOps is the next level of Agile. While Agile connects Business and Development to speed up the process. DevOps is connecting Development with delivery to production and maintenance (IT Operations). Meetup.com is a place where people go to meet other people and companies. Our goal is to approach companies to exchange everyone's experience with DevOps on a personal level. Please join!
