About the talk:

In this talk Abhilash will mainly focus on the impact of IoT/Predix on the environment and how Predix could be to so much useful to attain certain goals.
To explain the key concepts to the audience Abhilash will use Smart-Watering-System as an example on which he had worked using Predix. It is an automated watering system developed on GE Predix platform using AngularJS, Polymer, nginx, Grunt.

During the talk he will cover certain point such how Predix helped him to start with the project and how it made the development so easy and fast.

Abhilash Shrivastava (https://www.linkedin.com/in/abhilashshrivastava?authType=NAME_SEARCH&authToken=BhpS&locale=en_US&trk=tyah&trkInfo=clickedVertical%3Amynetwork%2CclickedEntityId%3A129262866%2CauthType%3ANAME_SEARCH%2Cidx%3A1-1-1%2CtarId%3A1472118548721%2Ctas%3AAbhilash%20Shrivastava) - is a Computer Science Master Student at San Francisco State University. He has been working on Predix since last 6-8 months. He has completed two month extensive Predix training provided by GE Digital. His team got third place in overall category and also grabbed the categorial prize of “Most Effective use of Predix Services”. Apart from working as Predix developer, he has more than 5 years of Web Development experience.

About the talk:

Aligning core oil & gas planning functions with equipment optimization on Predix is greater than the sum of the parts. GE’s oil & gas use cases have largely focused on equipment optimization; OAG Analytics focuses on using data science to improve core planning functions. This talk will introduce the core use cases and explore the value potential of unifying planning and operations on Predix.

About the speaker:

Luther Birdzell is an entrepreneur, data scientist, and engineer who is passionate about intellectual, machine, and kinesthetic learning. He is the CEO and Chief Data Strategist at OAG Analytics, a firm that he founded in 2013 to transform core planning functions in the upstream sector of the oil & gas industry. Prior to OAG, Luther held several leadership roles at iTKO and was instrumental in positioning their acquisition by Computer Associates (CA) for $330mm in 2011. He holds two electrical engineering degrees from Dartmouth College.
