See all- ProductTank Berlin #29, Evidence-Guided: Making great decisions in uncertaintyNetlight Consulting GmbH, Berlin, BE
How can you master conditions of uncertainty? To build great products, we need to confront what we don’t yet know. We need to gather evidence, and piece together how things might be. This is complicated work – non-linear, cognitively demanding, and susceptible to strong opinions and human emotion!
For ProductTank this September, we’re learning from two experts in taming uncertainty: Itamar Gilad (coach, ex-Google PM, and author of the upcoming book Evidence-Guided) and Bella Grigoryants (Senior Consultant at Netlight). Join us for pizza, beer, and new perspectives on solving product mysteries!
Thank you to our hosts Netlight and our sponsors Pendo, for making this event possible!
Please note
The event is RSVP only: to enter, you must RSVP here on Meetup.
We'd like to capture the event with photographs for promotional purposes, such as sharing on LinkedIn after the event. If you have any concerns or preferences regarding this, please feel free to let us know beforehand.Agenda

About our speakers and talks:
Itamar Gilad is a coach, author and speaker specializing in evidence-guided product management and product strategy. For over two decades he held senior product management and engineering roles at Google, Microsoft and a number of startups. At Google Itamar worked at YouTube and led parts of Gmail.
Itamar is the author of the forthcoming book Evidence-Guided: Creating High-Impact Products in the Face of Uncertainty. He also publishes a popular product management newsletter and is the creator of a number of product management methodologies including GIST Framework and The Confidence Meter.
In his talk, Itamar will describe ways to supercharge our judgment with evidence, as covered in his forthcoming book. He'll share evidence-guided alternatives to roadmaps, backlogs, and decision-by-committee. Itamar will also introduce us to the Confidence Meter — a tool to evaluate ideas based on evidence — and how you may use it to improve the quality of discussions and decisions.
The talk aims to discuss what leadership means when the opinions of leaders carry less weight, and how teams may gain trust and empowerment by using evidence. Finally Itamar will touch ground on the role of product managers in this brave new world.
Bella Grigoryants has spent 6 years navigating the realms of product management, working in diverse sectors such as fintech, edtech, logistics, martech and many more. Sharing her experiences, she'll discuss collaborating with stakeholders, pitfalls of hasty conclusions, and the balance of research and execution.
