What we’re about
ProductTank provides an opportunity for Product Managers in Des Moines & Ames to exchange ideas and experiences about Product Design, Development and Management, Business Modelling, Metrics, User Experience and all the other things that get us excited.
Events include talks from guest speakers on topics around product management, networking opportunities, and a good old-fashioned chin-wag over a beer or two.
We're open to companies big and small. We also welcome early-stage technology businesses looking to learn how to get their ideas off the ground.
We also have a blog and encourage the community to get engaged by commenting on or writing new posts for http://www.mindtheproduct.com
Finally, check out our annual conferences in San Francisco and London: http://mtpcon.com

- From IT Projects to Digital Products: Our Journey at John DeereGravitate Coworking (Downtown), Des Moines, IA
In 2019 - 2022, John Deere set about transforming 500 global technology teams toward adopting agility and DevOps, shifting from funding IT projects to funding stable products, and in promoting a more generative, high-trust culture. In this talk, we will double-click into the approach we took in re-organizing around digital products, share some of the challenges we encountered, and leave you with some key learnings we’ve taken from our journey so far.
Matt Ring is a Sr. Product & Engineering Coach with John Deere’s IT Strategy and Transformation organization. Matt works with leaders, practitioners, and teams on helping them elevate their own product, lean-agile and DevOps ways of working, and in cultivating an organizational culture of continuous learning and experimentation.
Molly Gill is a Product Manager with John Deere Financial, responsible for the design and development of internal-facing systems. Using agile methods, Molly works with stakeholders, operational employees, and other product teams to automate previously manual processes, and provide accessible and innovative solutions for activities that require the human touch.
