Beyond AI Buzzwords: Real‑World Lessons from Building an AI Agent
In this talk, Julia Bastian (AI Lead) and Sebastian Mark (AI Engineer) share how they built a production‑ready AI agent at Alasco, a SaaS company in the real estate industry.
They walk through the practical challenges that do not show up in hype‑driven AI conversations. This includes figuring out which use case is actually worth solving, learning how to evaluate and control non‑deterministic systems, and understanding how starting with feasible prototypes from the very beginning, tested with real user data, makes all the difference. They also explain how working on AI features changes the way product teams operate. Team setup, processes, and expectations all shift, and this often brings teams back to the purity of a simple build measure learn cycle.
Talk #2
From AI Hype to "Responsible AI": Shaping Product Strategy in Ethics & Compliance
In this talk, Moritz Homann (Head of AI) and Lisa Koeniger (Head of Product Management) from EQS share how they approached AI not as a race for flashy features, but as a long-term product strategy challenge in a highly regulated, trust-critical B2B SaaS environment.
They explain how EQS Group launched an independent, domain-specific AI benchmark, evaluating 120 real Ethics & Compliance use cases against leading LLMs as a thought leadership effort. It's an example of how AI Evals can not only be used in Product Engineering to assess the quality of AI models on specific use cases, but as a broader Thought Leadership tool.
By publishing the results and discussing them openly with customers through events and product-focused workshops, the team found a powerful way to have deeper discovery conversations about AI in regulated contexts. These discussions helped sharpen EQS’s product direction around Responsible AI and clarify where AI genuinely adds value — and where it does not (yet).
Don't miss the opportunity to learn from product people, share your experiences, network & get some fun!
