The Journey of Ideas: How product ideas emerge, grow and develop
Choosing how to invest your product team’s time is vital to any product’s success and growth, regardless of lifecycle stage. Most product people have experienced the challenge of finding, managing, prioritizing, and planning which ideas should be built all while maintaining the current state of your products. Join us for our next ProductTank Phoenix event in which we’ll explore the flow of product ideas and work from others to your product teams. The meetup will feature roundtable groups to discuss and map the processes your organizations use to find and select the product ideas that your teams ultimately spend their time discovering and delivering. These roundtable groups will be segmented by product and company maturity (startup, growth and mature) to ensure you will talk with others who are in similar circumstances. Following small group discussion, we will have leaders from each roundtable share experiences in this area. You’ll also have an opportunity to sketch your current/ideal idea management process. Some questions you may answer from this workshop: - How do I manage product requests from multiple stakeholders? - How do I balance product requests from customers that are in conflict with what I get from my stakeholders? - How do I prioritize product requests/ideas effectively? - How do other product people in similar stage companies manage requests from a variety of sources? - How do I choose which product ideas/requests to work on next? - How do I get better ideas for my product? While none of us claim to have all the answers, by discussion of our successes, struggles and ideas we can hopefully all enact positive changes to make sure product teams are working on the most important efforts at all times.
