What we're about

ProductTank provides an opportunity for Product Leaders in Wellington to exchange ideas and experiences about Product Design, Development and Management, Business Modelling, Metrics, User Experience and all the other things that get us excited.

Events include talks from guest speakers on topics around product management, networking opportunities, and a good old-fashioned chin-wag over a beer or two.

We're open to companies big and small. We also welcome early-stage technology businesses looking to learn how to get their ideas off the ground.

Since May 2019 we've been live streaming all our presentations, you can dial in live and check out previous recordings here (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2227061727373486/).

And finally, if you want to connect with local, New Zealand, based ProductTank people, we have a NZ only workspace where everyone will understand your kiwi slang and humour... join up here (https://join.slack.com/t/producttanknz/shared_invite/zt-4xzjb768-5ecZp~ddEjz96d0rbebuOA).

Needs a location

Ever wondered what go-to resources, templates or frameworks other product people regularly turn to? Well, this event is for you. We're lucky to be hearing from 4 local product leaders who will be opening up their tool belts and giving us a peek inside!

A big shout out to the team at EndGame for hosting and sponsoring this event - they have an amazing space for us to gather, listen, share and connect. Hope to see you there!

If you can't make it in person we'll also be live streaming here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-L3Z6jYGto and this link will also host a recording.

A bit about our speakers;

Para Muraleedharan - Growth Tools
GM Product, Xero
I love to apply systems thinking when it comes to finding product market fit and two of my favourite tools are Brian Balfour's 4 fits growth framework and Growth loops. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences of applying these frameworks to Xero's context.

I am currently a GM Product at Xero. I am passionate about building strong teams and delivering meaningful product outcomes, Over the last few years, I have been leading Tax Product at Xero and I have been fortunate enough to be in a space to find and grow product market fit for Xero's tax products in 7 markets.

Andrew Phillips - Building a Shared Understanding
Senior Product Manager, Reveal
I’ve been lucky enough to work across a wide range of companies. From early stage tech start-ups, big corporates, start-ups that have found their product market fit and focused on scaling. I'm going to share three real-world examples of using a Product Manifesto to align the principles of how the product team and wider business will work together to discover and deliver amazing products.

I'm an experienced Senior Product Manager with a demonstrated history of delivering new software products to market, primarily in Fintech. I'm currently working at Reveal.

Norie Ape - Storytelling Frameworks & Tools
Digital Product Manager @BCITO
I'll be sharing a storytelling framework that I discovered as part of a Design Thinkers Academy workshop I attended recently.

As a certified SAFe Agilist with experience within the government and private sector I enjoy the continuous engagement between tech teams & business teams to iteratively design, test, develop and implement customer centric products and services.

I'm also passionate about promoting and increasing the number of Pasifika women in the technology sector.

Liam O'Neill - Putting in the Hard Work Early
Senior Product Manager, Totara Learning
I'd like to share my thoughts on why it's worth putting in the blood, sweat and tears creating a robust financial model and written narrative of the product you want to take to market. It won't be easy but it will pay dividends as you develop your product.

I'm a Senior Product Manager working at Totara Learning focused on moving Totara's award winning Talent Experience Platform into the cloud to make it more readily available to new and existing partners.
