PyLadies South Bay: Tacklethon (Study Group)

PyLadies South Bay: Tacklethon (Study Group)

Details

DESCRIPTION:

Whether you're brand new to coding or a seasoned Python wrangler, it's easy to let intimidation keep you from growing. What's the next level for you?

Here's your chance to tackle that challenge in a fun, supportive environment in order to reach the next level -- or take that very first step.

This is a casual study group with an informal goal of escaping that comfort zone. All we ask is that you skip the familiar fare and bring something a little scary to work on -- or we can make suggestions based on your skill level and group people together if they share a particular interest.

Write your very first program in Codecademy. Boldly import new Python modules that (almost) no one has imported before. Master an algorithm. Take a microframework for a spin. No matter your goal, you can benefit from an environment dedicated to banning procrastination and biting the bullet.

DETAILS

This event is open to women, friends of PyLadies, and anyone else interested in supporting diversity in tech. While this is a Bring Your Own Bravery event (no "liquid courage," please), food and beverages will be provided.

Enter on the Orleans side of the building, not the Baltic Way side -- we'll gather in the lobby there, and check back for any stragglers. If you're waiting long, text Jen at 314-292-9747 and she'll let you in.

This is a casual event -- showing up whenever you can is fine, though you may have to text to get in.
