PyLadies is an international mentorship group for marginalized genders, such as but not limited to non-binary people, trans people, and women in tech, with a focus on helping our community become active participants and leaders in the Python open-source community.
Our mission is to promote, educate and advance a diverse Python community through outreach, education, conferences, events and social gatherings.
All skill levels welcome!

Workshop Level: Beginner 101Details:
This is a custom lesson plan for new programmers in Python. This introductory course is designed using Google Colab, a free python notebook environment that does not require user setup except the student requires a google account.Annie will introduce the different kinds of objects and methods in Python, how and when to use them. We have available seating for 15 in-person registrants so RSVP soon and if you change your mind, please let us know asap.

Bio: Annie Flippo is the Chief Data Officer at Urgently (a roadside assistance technology platform). She is a data expert focusing on the application of machine learning techniques to extract insights and improve business operations.
Her focus is to empower the data analytics team, lead the development of innovative data products and make data science accessible and intuitive for all. PyCon 2026 will be nearby in Long Beach! Interested in submitting a talk, tutorial, or poster to PyCon 2026 and want help? If you submit a draft of your proposal by Nov 21, you can opt to be paired with a volunteer mentor who will give feedback and help you develop your proposal before the final deadline on Dec 19.
