BQS19 Recap

From: Maggie D.

Hello everyone,

Thanks so much to all of you who attended our 19th show & tell meetup this past Tuesday evening. We had a number of great talks and demos and had our first ever meetup on the 11th floor of the Microsoft NERD Center (it has quite the view!).

QS Global Conference: We announced at the meetup that the QS Global Conference is coming up in June in SF. Unfortunately, the reduced meetup member rate has expired, but full tickets and scholarships are still available. If you will be attending the conference and would like to connect with other Boston QS meetup members, please fill out this short form to let us know.

Talks:

Demos:

  • Whatify.com ([address removed]): Whatify.com is like a statistician in your pocket. Instead of just tracking data and then trying to root around for insights, use whatify.com to ask a specific question and collect data in a mindful way. We use randomization - the gold standard in professional research everywhere - to bring you answers. No stats knowledge required.

  • Revvo ([address removed]): Revvo is a smart exercise bike. Unlike apps and wearables that track activity (steps, calories, distance etc.), Revvo actually tracks your fitness - and guides you to train smart - so you see quick results. You can now measure your fitness for FREE ! Test our beta prototype - in return you get a full fitness report that could cost $75-$150 at a fitness lab!

  • Lose It! ([address removed]): Today is the day. Whether you want to lose 10lbs or 100lbs, all Lose It! members share one goal: lose the weight and keep it off. See how easy it is to succeed with Lose It!, weight loss that fits.

  • Strive Labs ([address removed]): Recover Smarter. We’re changing the way individuals and health systems manage the most common health condition in the United States: Musculoskeletal Disease.

  • Zengar ([address removed]): The NeurOptimal neurofeedback system demoed at the Boston QS meetup puts the brain in a loop with itself.  The brain optimizes its functioning across the entire range of human capacities when it is shown its own activity.  This is automatic, below the level of consciousness (as is nearly all of what the brain does), and advances over time.  Several QSers found it interesting to get hooked up.  One who did it in a previous meetup reported improved speed and smoothness of response in an algebra experiment he was doing following his brief session!

Thanks to our speakers, demoers, and my fellow organizers for all their great work! Hope to see you at the next meetup.
