What we're about

The Rainbow Community Center (RCC) of Contra Costa County has served the LGBTQ community since 1992. This Meetup group is for women interested in the activities at the RCC. All women's activities will be posted on the calendar and members will be able to see all the activities and talk with each other about them.

The Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County envisions a society that embraces acceptance, safety and equality for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive and respectful environment for LGBTQ people of all ages, socio-economic status, races, cultures and religions. We strive to create services and activities that will promote the mental, physical and spiritual well-being of our community by providing professional services, peer support, referral services, social opportunities and educational programs of interest to our community as well as to the community at large.

Women Coming Out of Straight Marriage (Pacific Center)

This Group is now held at Pacific Center. Please call[masked] for more information. This group is for women who are coming out later in life, often from a heterosexual marriage. The issues for people coming out after they've established a heterosexual identity are unique and often involve divorce, dealing with kids, with families of origin and even bosses and co-workers. This peer-led support group creates a safe, non-judgmental space for each woman to work through her process, whatever that means for her. Some members are in the process of a divorce, others are opting to stay married, others are divorced already but are dealing with the fallout. The group meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month. All groups at RCC are free, donations are gratefully accepted.
