Being a Happy and Productive React Developer
Details
Note from Loc: ReactJS-OC is coming back! I've been crazy busy with a baby and a startup job in LA. I'm going to try and line up presenters for July and August and get this community going again. Please volunteer to speak!
Agenda
6:30-7: food and networking
7-8:30: talks
1st talk: Being a Happy and Productive React Developer
Frontend development is moving fast. It can be a full time job keeping up. Michael will talk about keeping happy and productive in a growing React app. He'll give practical advice for when you should care about things like CSS-in-JS, Flux, composition, and app organization. It will be entertaining and educational for all levels of React developer.
Michael Chan - @chantastic (https://twitter.com/chantastic)
Michael loves teaching. He designs at Planning Center Online, organizes the Full Stack Talks meetup in San Diego, and teaches React.js on learnreact.com. He thinks his wife and two ridiculous kids are super great. Also ramen.
2nd talk: unpkg your dependencies
Over the past few years the JavaScript ecosystem has evolved really quickly. The rise of npm gave us a great way to share our code with others, and bundlers solved the problem of how to deploy it. The next step in this evolution is to use a shared CDN to decrease the amount of code our users have to run. As JavaScript apps increase in size and complexity, we can use unpkg to dramatically decrease the amount of code our users have to download to their machines.
Michael Jackson - @mjacksonMichael is co-founder of @ReactTraining (https://twitter.com/ReactTraining), co-authored React Router. Created @unpkg (https://twitter.com/unpkg).
