Details

* Please read the Attendance Confirmation Note below.
Sacramento is filled with gorgeous hiking places, ranging from riverside nature to rugged hills. Join us for a hike event each 1st Saturday of the month to one of these sites, meet new people, and observe nature.
Our hike for this time is to Robie Point Firebreak Trail, north of Folsom Lake. This is a moderate hike full of scenery, creeks, watching birds, and enjoying the nature.

Access: Drive I-80 east, take exit 119c/Elm Avenue. Take a left at the end of the ramp to Elm Avenue, take a left onto High St. Pass beneath the Southern Pacific Rail-road as you continue down 49, look for Auburn State Recreation Area sign on the right as you drive, the gathering will be about 700 feet past this sign, there is a small space where cars can apparently park, there might be a parking fee. We will gather in the parking lot at 9 am. I'll be carrying a MEETUP sign

Total length: 6 miles.
Configuration: Out-and-back.
Difficulty: moderate.
Scenery: foothill woodland, views of the north fork of the American river.
Exposure: in and out of shade.
Trail surface: Duff and dirt, rock.
Nice to have things: Trekking poles, Selfie stick, bottle of water, a hat.
Attendance Confirmation Note: Please confirm your attendance in a comment a day ahead (Friday or Saturday morning). If less than a total of 4 people from both groups (SACFan and Reason Center) confirm by comments by 7am morning, then event is automatically canceled. I will send a notification in this case.
