A group for people interested in talking about and hacking on Kubernetes.
We’re excited about microservices, containers, distributed computing and the operating systems, as well as the various container runtimes that run them and the solutions that deploy, manage, and extend them.
Any skill level is welcome; we want to create an open, welcoming environment for other Kubernauts. Contact us if you are interested in speaking at or sponsoring this Meetup. We welcome content and demos!
Happy new year to all of you, hope you all had a blast.
Without further ado, lets have our first meetup in 2019.
18:30 - 19:30 Talk: Cloud Journey: Lifting a major product to Kubernetes (Martin Danielsson)
19:30 - 19:45 break
19:45 - 20:45 open discussion
#### Cloud Journey ~ Lifting a major product to Kubernetes (Martin Danielsson)
What does it take, to lift a major product into the cloud? Haufe-Lexware is a content and service provider, which provides iDesk2 as the main delivery platform. In 2017, they decided to move the application to Azure and completed the move 18 months later. The deployment is fully automated with a CI/CD-pipeline, open-source tools only, uses Kubernetes under the hood and has a disaster recovery time of 90min.
Martin Danielsson has been supporting this cloud journey as an architect and will give us an introspective about the good, the bad and the ugly of the adventure.
Afterwards, we'll have an open discussion round on experiences of other members and companies.
if you have any ideas for talks please get in touch. We have a slack channel that you can join and voice out your opinion, raise a discussion, offer to sponsor our little meetup :)
