Join me (Fern Filner) for monthly and weekly classes and drum jams! Small groups so each gather is an interactive experience of percussion and meditative rhythm's for frame drums, Doumbek's, Djembe's and a mix of percussion instruments during JuJu Jam time!

Drums provided or bring your own. We now have drum stands to bring the smaller drums higher and provide a more comfortable position.
Drumming has been used for thousands of years for pain mitigation, stress management, and cognitive engagement; as well as enhanced listening skills, coordination exercises, community and fun!
Any level of wellness can play.
Currently it is 5 dollars per class, payable 1 month at a time. You must register at the ACC. Use the below link or stop by the center. Attend for the first time as my guest. Please show up 15 minutes early to check in.
One Thursday per month, my class is followed by an acoustic session 2:30-4:30, Violins, banjos, guitars, and more. look for the "San Carlos Jammers" link to register for it separately, on the schedule at the ACC!

Welcome to the Spring Sessions
I love playing Frame drums because the sounds they make vibrate throughout my being, making me happy. Drumming can be utilized as a meditation, and to strengthen physical and mental acuity. The majority of time spent with me, is spent Drumming! Learn and jam to unique rhythms from around the world and expand your horizons.
Uma is my favorite song to play, have you learned it yet?
In Sanskrit the word umā also means: "Tranquility." We will also play, Baladi, and many other rhythms you may know already, as well as new ones.
Let us let our hearts and hands and ears feel the vibrations as we spend this time with our drums and with each other.
Requirements: Frame Drum of your choice, or other drum,
basic knowledge of the different strokes- is helpful. This is a class, and it is not a class. I teach as much as is needed to facilitate an interesting and enjoyable jam.
and if you know the names of the strokes, I have written notation which I can send you as a PDF.
