Why not Wednesday - to get together, this time at Otto's Full Service!
ABOUT
Otto's Full Service is an American Restaurant & Bar, located in the heart of Piermont, NY. It's housed inside a former gas station that dates back to the 1920s. Until recently, there was a man who was known to the locals; he owned and operated the gas station. His name was Otto. (Note: the photo above is to reflect an old gas station, but is NOT how the restaurant looks today!)
Otto's opened in the summer of 2022 so it is a fairly new on the restaurant scene - and so thought it would be good to check out. The restaurant fare leans towards gastro pub / casual fare style but offers a range. Please view menu here: https://ottosfullservice.com/piermont-otto-s-full-service-food-menu
Additionally Otto's presents live music on Wednesdays from 6PM - 8:30PM. On Wednesday June 14, it is a Jazz night and will feature Mark Atteberry with special guest Mark Hagan on string bass. So something different to try out.
I've reserved an outdoor dining space for this reservation, and will check in closer to the time with the restaurant on assumption if rain, that we are brought inside. Only it is in such close proximity to the pier, thought it was a shame to forfeit.
DINING OUT WITH RIVERTOWN SOCIAL
To create the most seamless experience, the dining out approach is as follows: you add together whatever you have ordered and add 30%. For example, the total cost of your meal is $20 before tax and tip, you add 30%, coming to a total of $26 to be paid. In this way everyone pays for their respective costs and the waiter/waitress is not shortchanged. Please note: I will contact the restaurant to see if bills can be split but if not, then please look to bring cash.
RSVPs
If your plans change, please update your RSVP as soon as, only this enables someone else to join - and - ensures a small, new restaurant is not foregoing the opportunity to fill more seats.
PARKING
There are numerous areas to park in Piermont but encourage you to give yourself some extra time, for while a Wednesday, it is the warmer weather season, so others may be out too.
Hope to see you there!

Let's step back to the Gilded Age, with a house tour of Glenview at the Hudson River Museum.
ABOUT
Glenview is an 1877 Gilded Age home, listed on the national register of historic places. On this 45MIN guided tour, 6 fully restored period rooms will be viewed. The HBO series, The Gilded Age, filmed at this property.
Tickets are not yet on sale for June, and have been advised by the museum that they will go live on the 3rd weekend of this month, so in/around the 20th/21st of May. I wanted to post early to see the level of interest, in case we ended up being a group of 10+, in which case I may be able to arrange a private tour, otherwise it will end up being a first come / first serve on the day. Note: I will be checking their website over the course of the next couple of weeks and will post once I see June dates listed. You are of course welcome to do same.
Ticket purchase (once June dates go live): https://www.hrm.org/calendar/
Tickets are $16 per person and includes general admission to the museum as well.
There is a courtyard which has seating, and the museum store offers light snacks and beverages for sale. So depending on group (and weather), we can gather following.
According to their website they have ample parking.
Note: an RSVP here to Meetup lets me know you are interested, a purchase of a ticket via the museum's site confirms your spot on the tour. There are several interesting exhibits, including art from the Hudson River School, and an aptly named for the season exhibit "In Exaltation of Flowers" featuring work by Edward Stachen.
Hope to see you there!

Summer officially kicks off on June 21, so a great reason to get together and take in a happy hour at Half Moon.
ABOUT HALF MOON
Half Moon, in Dobbs Ferry, is located on the water offering sweeping views of Manhattan on one side and of the Tappan Zee bridge on the other. Throughout the week they run a happy hour, in their lounge and at the bars, which on Wed is 3PM - 6PM.
If the weather is nice, we’ll meet at the outside bar, closest to the parking lot. There is a choice of drinks and light fare which you can view here:
https://www.halfmoonhudson.com/event/happy-hour/
If the weather isn’t great, we will meet inside in the lounge area or the raw bar depending on how many join. Either way I will post updates upon arrival.
PARKING
There is a good sized parking lot by the restaurant, with additional parking by the train station. (Just be sure if parking in the latter you check the parking “rules”)
TRAIN
It is just a few minutes walk from the Dobbs Ferry train station.
Hope to see you there!
