White Rim in a day
Location not specified yetWho's in for the 2025 WRIAD?
Fall is here already! For many, riding the White Rim Road in a day is a bucket list adventure. For others is just another way to share adventure and camaraderie with like minded friends, new and old. The White Rim circles the Island in the Sky mesa, providing expansive views of the surrounding canyons, cliffs, and the Green and Colorado Rivers. This is your chance to check this one off the list and have a great time in the desert with friends!
The details: Approximately 100 miles with 6800' gain
We're gonna meet Saturday, October 25th at 0530 at the Trail Head lot on Hwy 313 1/4 mile south of the 313 / Mineral Bottom Road intersection

You will be responsible for your own nutrition and hydration. There isnt't anywhere to resupply so do your homework to determine what you'll need to successfully complete the 100 mile loop. It's better to have too much than not enough

A $6.00 day use permit is required on the White Rim
Each rider needs to have their own permit
The permit can be bought at the visitor center or on-line starting at 8 am the day before the ride
Permits can be bought hereWhat bike to ride?
The White Rim is moderately rough, but decently maintained. However it is sometimes very sandy in spots, loose dirt and rocky in others. An XC MTB with fast rolling tires 2..3 or wider is optimal. Leave the drop bar bike at home for this one.Be sure your bike is maintained and reliable!
Top off your sealant (you should be tubeless) but carry a spare tube, plugs, patch kit, pump and everything you need to fix a flat. It will also be a good idea to carry a spare quick link, a few chain links, the tool to fix a broken chain and a mini toolI think that covers it. If I missed something or you have a question please let me know

Ken Caryl Park-N-Ride, 7450 S Shaffer Ln, Littleton, CO, USIt's fall in Colorado which means that there is still plenty of great riding to be done! We are having weekly climbing [usually] rides out of various locations until snow and cold puts a stop to it! This ride will start out of the Ken Caryl Park-n-Ride at 9:15 for a 9:30 departure.
These rides will generally be in the range of 40-60 miles--longer if it's warm; shorter if it's chilly. Expect some good climbing, some roads you haven't ridden before, maybe an occasional stretch of gravel road, and a guarantee of great people. Like all RMCC rides, we do regroup periodically but these should be considered drop rides.
That actual route will be posted the week of the ride once we have a sense of what weather and road conditions will be like. Weather may lead to a start time change, the ride being moved to Sunday, or cancellation--if you think you want to do the ride, please RSVP so you are notified of any changes.
Non-dues paying members are invited to join us on the rides--once you've done 3 rides with the club we do ask that you join: https://rockymountaincyclingclub.com/
