Mississippi River Ride

Here you go folks!! Here’s your opportunity to get up close and personal with the mighty Mississippi.

This will be a freewheeling motorcycle trip unlike any you’ve had before. There are planned routes with an assigned leader if you just want to just follow along and enjoy the scenery. For those with GPS devices, we can provide .gpx files with suggested routes for each day.

OR... below are hotels for where and when we’ll be starting and ending each day. You will have a .pdf brochure from the Mississippi River Parkway Commission on what to see and do along the way. You can ride on your own or form your own group and route. Go at your own pace, see and do whatever you want to do, and share your experiences each evening at the hotel. The planned daily routes are fairly short to allow for stops at points of interest.

This ride will leave on Monday May 9th from Patty Ann's in Kiowa at 8AM. If you want breakfast, meet at7 AM. After a total of about 2,800 miles, we are scheduled to arrive back in Denver on Wednesday May 18th .

After enjoying 2 days of scenic?? 2 lane roads through Kansas and Missouri, we will begin riding north along the Mississippi River starting in St. Charles, MO. We'll follow the river as closely as possible all the way to the headwaters of the Mississippi in Itasca State park in northern MN. About half way, we'll take a 2 night break at a lake house near Annandale, MN. If we exceed the house capacity, some of us can overnight in Annandale.

We will return through South Dakota and Nebraska avoiding interstates as much as possible.

Each rider should make their own hotel reservations and co-ordinate roommates as needed.
