We are a group of fun social walkers some of whom are also non-competitive volkswalkers. We walk in southern Oregon at least every other week and love to walk with others.
We walk because it is fun. We walk because there are places to go. We walk because we love staying healthy while enjoying all the Southern Oregon has to offer. We schedule meetups so we can meet others who enjoy these things.
All questions regarding the Rogue Valley Walkers, Volkswalking and scheduled MeetUps should be addressed to the Co-organizer Jerri Wildfong.
We'll be walking through residential areas and on the pathway along the golf course in Eagle Point. There are two distance options, 5K (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles). Walkers wanting AVA credit will pay a $3.00 fee. The club would appreciate a small donation from non-credit walkers. This helps us to print the directions we give to the walkers and other administrative costs. Dogs are welcome if they bring a responsible human on a leash. Our walks are self-paced; walk at your own speed. Everyone will have directions and a map, so if you aren't up to walking our set distances, you can turn around at any point. As we say, walk half as far as you think you can and then turn around and go back to your car!
We will be walking through residential areas in East Medford. There are two distance options, 5K (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles). Walk at your own pace. Everyone will have directions so no one will get lost. Dogs are welcome as long as they bring a responsible human on a leash. Members who wish to receive AVA credit will be charged a $3.00, and we ask non-credit walkers to donate a couple of dollars to help us to continue organizing walks. The pin in the map below is a bit off... we meet in the parking lot where the Sears store used to be, near Jackson Street and across the road from Hawthorne Park.
