Hello Rustaceans!
We're pleased to announce our next meetup on Thursday, August 31st, in the San Francisco Mozilla office. We have two speakers lined up:
- Siddon Tang: Futures and gRPC in Rust
- Simple introduction for the async programming and futures.
- Why we choose gRPC, the benefit of HTTP/2 and how gRPC is built on HTTP/2
- The C gRPC core API
- Combine Futures and gRPC
Bio:
Siddon Tang, 10 years experience in distributed system, chief engineer of PingCAP, before joining PingCAP, he worked for wps.com as the tech lead of backend infrastructure. Currently, he focus on TiKV, an open-source distributed transactional key-value database written in Rust.
- Sean Leffler: Ferris Loops: Rust's Turing-Complete Type System
The doors will open at 6pm, and the talks go live at 7pm.
As always, Mozilla will be graciously providing food, drink, and a live stream of the meetup. The stream will also be archived on Air Mozilla. We'll update this page with the link to the talk once it goes live.
