Details

Welcome back, everyone!

We're excited to be running an in-person Rust meetup again, hosted at the Google offices in downtown San Francisco.

This time around we're going to have Alyssa (@kupiakos) giving a talk on soundness and unsafe code in Rust!

Proper masking and vaccination will be mandatory for attendance; more information on this below.

For this event we are not planning on providing dinner: While Rust Bay Area hosts may start doing so for future events, for this event we're preferring to avoid situations where attendees need to be unmasked as much as possible.

Please enter from the door at 345 Spear. We'll need to buzz you in, and we'll be doing that in groups every five minutes or so. You can text me at +1 781 333 8299 if there are any problems.

Please bring photo ID along with any acceptable proof of COVID-19 vaccination as listed on the San Francisco Department of Public Health website. The Google facility does not require boosters at this time.

For everyone's safety, masks will be required at all times, except briefly when eating or drinking in the microkitchen area outside of the tech talk space.

The talk will be livestreamed; with the link posted here closer to the even time.

Doors open at 6:30, talk starts at 7.

Looking forward to seeing folks in-person again!

Thanks,
-Manish Goregaokar and Shane Carr
