What we’re about
Welcome! Welcome to the Hau`oli Strummers Ukulele Club of San Diego. Hau’oli is Hawaiian for happy and that’s what we are. We are a great community of uke players who get together to strum, sing, learn, teach, share, and most of all, have fun. We welcome anyone and everyone to join us.
Skill Level We welcome all skill levels from the newest uke noobs to total uke stars. If you’ve never strummed or sung a note in your life, our club is a great place to be. The strum-along format makes it easy to join in while you’re learning. If leading a song is your jam, there are plenty of opportunities to do just that.
Music We play a wide variety of music including Rock, Pop, Country, Standards, Hawaiian and more. Over the years we have compiled a great Hau'oli Strummers Songbook and a Google Songbank containing the songs we play at our music jams. Songbooks are available as a free PDF. A link to the Songbank is included on the Meetup event descriptions.
When Our weekly meetups are on Tuesday nights starting at 6:00 or 6:30 (6pm Downtown Cafe, 6:30 at the other locations) and ending between 8 - 9 pm. We participate in other events too. Click the 'Events' tab above for more information. Join us at a Tuesday Night Meetup jam; it's super fun.

4TH Tues Uke @ Denny's FOOD Glorious FOOD! And Food Drive ◡̈

Hungry Hau'oli Strummers! Join us for a themed setlist for the first half (see setlist LINK below) celebrating FOOD Glorious FOOD in honor of Thanksgiving 🦃. The second half will be by request with the option to lead songs chosen from our songbook and online Song Bank, links below.
Bring your uke and play along. We will project the songs (but bring a songbook or iPad if you have one, just in case). We will be meeting INDOORS in the community room located up a short flight of stairs near the restrooms (there is a ramp option). There are tables and chairs to use. We hope to see you there!! Happy almost Thanksgiving🍁 🎶
Optional: bring Canned and Dried food items to donate to the San Diego Food Bank (we will drop them off for you at the Miramar Distribution Center). Here's a link to their Most Needed Food Items

OnlineCome and join us on ZOOM! Everyone is welcome! You MUST RSVP in advance to get the Zoom ID # and Passcode. (This is to avoid Zoom-bombers).
This event is a Zoom of the In-Person Meetup which is "Strum Along" format meaning everyone plays and sings each song at the same time. The first half may include a Setlist w/ a link posted in the In-Person Meetup. All other songs will be requests from the club's Online Songbank and book.
Zoomers please queue up the New Songbank and weekly Setlist (if any) on your device (linked below or in the In-Person Meetup) because it is not always possible to screen share the music. Also we apologize in advance for any internet, wifi, or equipment glitches; we try hard, but sometimes things happen.

1ST Tues Ukulele @ Downtown Cafe, El Cajon. 6 pm start
Downtown Cafe Bar & Grill, 182 E Main St, El Cajon, CA, USThe Downtown Cafe Bar & Grill graciously allows our group to meet and play there. Please help support them by ordering drinks or a meal.
We project song lyrics and chords on a screen, so bring your ukulele and play along. We simulcast our jam on Zoom online for members who can not attend live.
Our host for the event will have a 10-15 song setlist that will be played at the start of our jam. Afterward, requests will be taken for songs to be played from our Songbank. Feel free to step up to the mic and lead a song. Strum, sing along, have fun, and enjoy!
