About us
Welcome! Welcome to the Hau`oli Strummers Ukulele Club of San Diego. Hau’oli is Hawaiian for happy and that’s what we are. We are a great community of uke players who get together to strum, sing, learn, teach, share, and most of all, have fun. We welcome anyone and everyone to join us.
Skill Level We welcome all skill levels from the newest uke noobs to total uke stars. If you’ve never strummed or sung a note in your life, our club is a great place to be. The strum-along format makes it easy to join in while you’re learning. If leading a song is your jam, there are plenty of opportunities to do just that.
Music We play a wide variety of music including Rock, Pop, Country, Standards, Hawaiian and more. Over the years we have compiled a great Hau'oli Strummers Songbook and a Google Songbank containing the songs we play at our music jams. Songbooks are available as a free PDF. A link to the Songbank is included on the Meetup event descriptions.
When Our weekly meetups are on Tuesday nights starting at 6:00 or 6:30 (6pm Downtown Cafe, 6:30 at the other locations) and ending between 8 - 9 pm. We participate in other events too. Click the 'Events' tab above for more information. Join us at a Tuesday Night Meetup jam; it's super fun.

1ST Tues Ukulele @ Downtown Cafe, El Cajon. 6 pm start
Downtown Cafe Bar & Grill, 182 E Main St, El Cajon, CA, USThe Downtown Cafe Bar & Grill graciously allows our group to meet and play there. It's a cosy, welcoming venue, so please help support them by ordering drinks or a meal. No pressure; the music is free.
Our host for the event will have a 10-15 song setlist that we all will play together at the start of our jam.
We project song lyrics and chords on a screen, so bring your ukulele and play along. All levels are welcome. We simulcast our jam on Zoom online for members who can not attend live.
Afterward, requests will be taken for songs to be played from our huge Songbank. Feel free to step up to the mic and lead a song. Strum, sing along, have fun, and enjoy!

2nd Tues Uke @ Mission Bay RV Resort
Mission Bay RV Park, 2727 De Anza Rd, San Diego, CA, US** Newest location!! We are meeting at the Clubhouse at the Mission Bay RV Resort (2727 De Anza Road, San Diego 92109). GPS will get you to the entrance... then, immediately turn LEFT after turning onto the RV Resort property. Follow the road (over dips and speed bumps) about 1/4 mile, until you get the pool/clubhouse.
This indoor venue is a very nice, enclosed clubhouse, there is NO food or beverage service. However, you can bring snacks and drinks (and there is a vending machine ... just in case). There are plenty of chairs, bathrooms, ample parking nearby and WiFi. We will be projecting the songs on a screen. Feel free to bring your tablet/computer and downloaded setlist and songbook. There are some tables, but consider bringing a stand if you like to use a tablet. We think you will like this bay front location, with plenty of space indoors. Join us!

April 21 Come sing and play some of Motown's greatest hits from The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, The Four Tops, The Jackson Five, and Gladys Knight. It’ll be uptight and outta sight! The 1st half setlist is being prepared . . .
SPECIAL REQUEST TO ORDER FOOD BY 6 PM:
We try to support Marie Callender's by getting dinner or pie 🥧. BUT we've grown (a LOT ... double) and we're a lot of work. They request that we TRY TO ORDER BY 6 PM so their staff can handle our large group.The 2nd Half, as always, will be strummers choice from the NEW SONGBANK. Please join us at a mic 🎤 where we can all join as you lead or help lead your favorite song. Everyone, including Zoomers, can find links below.

Bring your uke and play along. We will project the songs. We are meeting INDOORS in the community room located up a short flight of stairs near the restrooms (there is a ramp option). There are tables and chairs to use. We hope to see you there!! H
