Pieter Wuille: an overview of the changes in bip-taproot & bip-tapscript

Pieter Wuille, Bitcoin Core developer and Blockstream co-founder, will speak about the draft bips bip-taproot and bip-tapscript that he and several other contributors have been working on for the past few months. While there has been an earlier talk here on the concept of Taproot, this talk will focus on the specific changes proposed in the BIP documents.

The talk will start with stating the goals of this set of changes, and how they influenced design decisions around various upgrade mechanisms (leaf versions, OP_SUCCESSx, upgradable pubkeys, annex), batch validation and its impact on OP_CHECKMULTISIG, and various changes in how signature hashes are computed.
