About the Sponsor and Host
PubNub offers realtime infrastructure-as-a-service, and provides enterprise-grade security, 99.999% SLA-backed reliability, and global scalability to support the largest realtime deployments, all via simple APIs and 70+ SDKs. Additionally, developers can take advantage of value added features for application areas like chat/collaboration, IoT device control, and realtime updates to further accelerate build and release times.
-----------------------------------
Talk 1 – MakerDAO. Nik Kunkel from MakerDAO will be presenting a technical overview of Maker that focuses on the system behind its decentralized and collateral-backed stablecoin Dai. He will walk through the architecture of the transparent smart contract platform that creates and stabilizes Dai.
We will then see a sneak peak of the Maker JS library from Ethan Bennett, Tyler Sorensen and Sean Brennan. They will preview the new Javascript library and discuss future ways to build with Maker.
Talk 2 – TrustToken/TrueUSD. Rafael Cosman will present the TrustToken platform, with a heavy emphasis on how the TrueUSD stablecoin operates, which is TrustToken's first product. He will walk through code examples and the technical design of TrueUSD.
These talks are a fantastic opportunity to learn about and contrast two of the main different approaches to stablecoins in the Ethereum ecosystem so far: highly decentralized, overcollateralized coins (like Dai) and somewhat more centralized, fully collateralized coins, with the collateral residing in a commercial bank account (like TrueUSD). The tradeoff space therefore exists between decentralization and capital efficiency.
Come and enjoy these awesome talks!
