RSVPs; Events This Week: x.ai, Datapalooza, H2O World; Data By the Bay CFP

From: Alexy K.

Folks -- tomorrow we have x.ai meetup at Ticketfly.  It's already sold out with people on the waiting list.  First, a note on RSVP discipline.

Sad but necessary.  For the previous meetup at Typesafe, we had about 100 no-shows.  We've collected manual sign-ins from everyone who did show up.  As a disciplinary measure, we may need to reorder the list for tomorrow, deprioritizing folks who had an RSVP showing Yes and didn't show up in favor of those who did honor their RSVP.

We take RSVPs very seriously as we work with venues to provide food/seating and we have a substantial membership.  Please make sure your RSVP reflects your final status by midnight preceding the meetup.

With that out of the way, event update!

What a great Data Science November -- I've never seen anything like this!  Only May 2016 will match it -- see below...

From today to Wednesday, H2O World is going on at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, with excellent Scala-backed big data science toolchain.  There are three panels on Wednesday 11/11, including one with Rob Tibshirani -- highly recommended.  Use the code SFSCALA for 50% off remaining tickets, while supplies last.

Datapalooza starts tomorrow at Galvanize.  Nitro hosts two days with data pipelines sessions on Akka/Kafka/Spark and NLP/ML in Scala.  Use the code IBM50 for 50% off the last tickets.

Friday is the 4th MLConf.  Use the code Alexy15 for 15% off -- it's almost sold out.

And, CFP is open for the new Data By the Bay four-conference sequence for May of 2016.  The CFP ends on 12/31/2015, so hurry up!  Data By the Bay is the evolution of the highly successful Text By the Bay conference for ML/NLP on vast amounts of text, becoming one of the days:

data.bythebay.io -- see CFP!

Cheers,
A+
