Microservices, Agile Data Science, and NLP Training at Data By the Bay

From: Alexy K.
Sent on: Wednesday, March 30, 2016 4:01 PM

Data By the Bay is proud to host three full-day training courses, running on the day before the conference at the same venue (Galvanize SF).  The trainers are highly regarded experts in the field, who helped shaped the subject matter itself, and speakers at SF Scala, SF Spark, and SF Text meetups.

Andy Petrella, the creator of Spark Notebook, will teach Agile Data Science with Scala, covering the same ideas as the SMACK Stack (Spark/Scala + Mesos + Akka + Cassandra + Kafka) from Spark Notebook.  You will learn both data engineering with Spark and data analysis and visualization in Spark Notebook in this course.

Chris Richardson, the creator of the original CloudFoundry and founder of a new startup, eventuate.io, will teach you how to build Microservices with Event Sourcing.  Chris put a lot of thought into the foundations of software architecture, running microservices.io, and event sourcing is a crucial piece ensuring consistency in distributed systems.

Gabor Melli, the Chief Scientist at OpenGov, a KDD award winner and KDD 2016 co-organizer, will teach his highly acclaimed introduction to Natural Language Processing.  Gabor built systems incorporated deep NLP into web-scale data pipelines, and has specific pointers on what kind of NLP works in production.
