Kalamuna and Exygy join forces to share with you news from the trenches of complex, or as we like to call them, BIG F!#%#$%#% Projects!
When we say complex we mean 3 design agencies, 10+ client stakeholders representing 16 departments to help 1 government agency with 3 departments over 10 locations serving over 250,000 people migrate from a deprecated system to Drupal over 5,000+ project hours across 14 months!
Are you a stakeholder, do you work for an agency as a designer, engineer, or product manager, or are you a citizen wondering how your government’s website can serve you better?
Our case study for this talk will be the San Francisco Human Services Agency, which launched in late 2017, with an ambitious new Drupal website designed and engineered by Exygy and Kalamuna. We’ll walk you through this project and share with you our successes and failures along the way.
We’ll draw from our extensive experience in the Civic and Education Tech sectors, and founded in a mission-driven work ethic. Once we’re done, you will…
- learn how to confidently negotiate a joint bidding process with a partner agency
- learn our technique for navigating a complex stakeholder map
- understand how to align methodologies between partners and stakeholders
- manage change requests with confidence
- embrace contributed modules and leverage custom code when needed
- you will learn to think about leveraging reusable web components for building your CMS using the/Lego concept and pattern library
Come prepared with questions and stories that you have about your BIG F!#%#$%#% Projects and buckle up because we’re in for a bumpy ride!
