All durations and descriptions are approximate or perhaps entirely inconsistent with what will eventually transpire.
The Zoom links have been posted to the list, and I'll post to the list and Meetup again tomorrow.
==========
Hacking Farmer's Markets --- Mitch Bradley (20 minutes)
"By frequenting local Farmer's Markets and talking to the vendors, I have discovered a lot of need for small-scale automation. I'll show a collection of gadgets made from low-cost microprocessors, motors, sensors, and hardware store parts, with simple programming in Forth, that are a great help to small farmers and food producers."
AIBot Board Update --- Don Golding (20 minutes)
The Pi Challenge ... show off your solution! --- Bill Ragsdale
(duration will depend on number of presenters - reserve your spot now!)
> For the Saturday, Oct. 24 SVFIG meeting we will continue with another
> Forth Challenge. This is not a contest, just show and tell. Time is
> limited so there is no need to walk through every line of code. Just
> summarize the method, your approach and show the result.
>
> “Compute PI by your favorite method(s). Consider, 1) Integer to your
> stack width, 2) Floating point to your processor’s limit, and/or 3)
> Integer beyond your stack width.”
A New Turtle Search Algorithm for COVID-19 Mutants --- C.H. Ting
(15 minutes)
"My Exhaustive Search has a problem when there are repeated 20-nucleotide patterns in a virus genome. I developed this Turtle Search to crawl through two genomes and spit out mismatches on their way. It happens that this letter to letter search is 10x faster than the old algorithm."
