About us
The Southwest Photo Club was founded in 2006 to promote photography education in a fun and amiable atmosphere. The Club is centered in Littleton, Colorado, although anyone can join. We have monthly meetings and events featuring highly-regarded photographers who present to our club members on specific topics of interest.
We encourage members to share their photos, not for competition but to help each other learn and grow as photographers. Each month, a photo assignment challenges our members to take images of a specific subject, topic, or something to stretch their photographic talents. The images are displayed and shared at our monthly meetings.
You can join for individual meetings via Meetup, but we’d really like to have you as a full member. Learn more about the Club at our website.

Street Photography with Jeff Tidwell
·OnlineOnlinePROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
In his street photography project RESIST!, our presenter, Jeff Tidwell, documents the demonstrations in Denver during the Trump administration, presenting the First Amendment in practice. The photographs capture crowds gathering, voices rising, and signs lifted high, each frame serving as a reminder of the constitutional rights to free speech and assembly. The work is presented with impartiality, allowing the images to speak without commentary while preserving both the passion of participants and the presence of authority. Moments of unity appear alongside the tension that arises when public expression meets government and civilian response. Every photograph becomes a record of democracy in motion, showing protest not as disorder but as a protected form of civic engagement. In this collection, the First Amendment is revealed not as abstract text but as lived experience, embodied in the faces, gestures, and energy of people exercising their rights.SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Jeff Tidwell is a Denver-based street and documentary photographer whose work blends candid urban moments with portraits marked by soul and grit. Drawn to the rawness and unpredictability of the street, he often seeks eye contact in his images to create a powerful connection between subject, photographer, and viewer. His project RESIST! documents the 2025 protests in Denver during the Trump administration, capturing the First Amendment in practice with impartiality and respect. Whether portraying protest or everyday life, Tidwell’s photographs serve as testimony to human resilience, emotion, and the threads of connection that bind communities together.REGISTRATION
