About us
This is a group for nature lovers in the greater Sacramento Valley area. We are hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers, equestrians, volunteers and Docents who love the lands that the Sacramento Valley Conservancy protects or is in the process of protecting. We LOVE and appreciate nature and these sensitive resources. Join us at Deer Creek Hills, Camp Pollock or Rancho Seco.
Due to registration limitations on Meetup, we often have outside registration links. Your RSVP on Meetup does NOT necessarily secure your registration.

Join Deer Creek Hills historian David Scharlach as he tells of the amazing first owners of Deer Creek Hills including a cowboy Casanova, a drunken scoundrel and murderer, the intrepid teenage daughter (and survivor) of George Donner and the rancher whose fight with the government over this land went right up to the U. S. Supreme Court. This outing will take you over a moderate 3-mile hike.
